Efficacy of Intervention Program to Reduce Junk Food Consumption: A Quasi Experimental Study

The objective of the study was to assess efficacy educational intervention program based on principles Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) reduce junk food consumption in high school students Pakistan. With quasi experimental design, planned and conducted. Fifty ages between 13 19 years were selected. Risk Behavior Diagnostic Scale adapted measure perceived susceptibility severity various disease; response self-efficacy along with intentions leave consumption. Junk Food Frequency Checklist constructed gauge behavior. Assessments made before, after at follow up level. Results from repeated measures ANOVA post hoc test revealed significant increase threat health pre one month adolescents. Significant also noted as well Further, decline eating behavior reported Findings provide some evidence that PMT is effective for reducing Such interventions may be considered modify other health-hazardous behaviors.
